WHAT YOUR RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIP BOND EQUATES TO WITH HORSES
IT EFFECTS EVERYTHING.
As covered, you effectively become their herd, (which is their over-riding and frontal foremost concern and what occupies their thoughts primarily and foremost).
Horses who have a relationship bond with their owner / rider / handler trust them and feel protected and safe with them anywhere,
RELATIONSHIP BASE TRAINED HORSES:
Have full confidence.
Are confident in any environment.
Don't spook when things suddenly happen.
Don't spook at loud noises.
Don't spook at things suddenly jumping out at them.
Don't spook at big sudden changes around them.
Are not worried about what other horses are doing, don't try to rush off when other horses pass.
Ignore it when other horses around them do silly things.
Are not concerned if other horses stop and jack up at things, will carry on.
Are happy to lead the way anywhere. Are fine and relaxed on their own anywhere, (without another horse there).
Are respectful with people.
Are respectful with other horses.
Are not flighty or spooky in their own space in the paddock and act maturely and sensibly even when other horses are silly.
Will do everything to try to help and work with people.
They will be happy, love exploring things that other horses are normally scared of, curious.
Will rock on up to things like loud tractors with curiosity.
Will be happy and calm, relaxed and placid.
Will be very affectionate, cuddly, personable.
Often nicker or come to you when you bring the saddle out.
Will put their head down and come to you to have the bridle and halter put on.
Can be ridden without any gear on at all and guided by a light touch of a finger or voice.
Can be ridden halter & lead bareback anywhere easily.
Enjoy people's company and like to hang out with people.
Are willing and easy to manage and ride.
Will often turn their head to you while ridden and look for cuddles or pats or lick your boot, enjoying your company.
Enjoy the whole horse / human interaction.
Are happy to patiently stand around snoozing and waiting with their rider on.
Are happy to stand still without being held to mount anywhere.
Are happy to learn new things.
If you don't build a respectful and kind gentle bond with your horse the result is this:
Fearful of everything and unpredicatble.
Worse in different environments.
Are jumpy and flighty when things suddenly happen.
Spook at loud noises.
Spook at things suddenly jumping out at them.
Spook at big sudden changes around them.
Are worried about what other horses are doing, try to rush off when other horses pass.
Play up and react when other horses around them do silly things.
Are concerned if other horses stop and jack up at things and will also stop and jack up.
Are only happy to follow other horses, don't like to lead. Are fearful and spooky on their own anywhere.
Are rude with people.
Are rude with other horses.
Are flighty & spooky in their own space in the paddock and play up when other horses are silly.
Will work against people.
They will be upset & flighty.
Will freak out at even little things and over-react.
Will be flighty, nervous, anxious and unpredictable.
Will be very aloof, standoffish and evasive with people.
Will leave and go away when you bring the saddle out.
Will put their head up and away when you go to put the bridle and halter on.
Will take off and likely buck a rider off it they were to attempt to ride them without any gear at liberty.
Would take off or be unmanageable ridden halter & lead bareback.
Are unwilling and difficult to manage and ride.
Will never want to interact with you while ridden and will shy at your movements in the saddle and be unpredictable.
Evade any horse / human interaction.
Are nervous and fidgety when asked to stand still stand and wait.
Will be evasive when the rider is trying to mount.
Are anxious and don't tend to learn.
